IP Vs PI - How To Conquer Your Goals
Happy Thursday everyone!
Another day to grow and get better in each area of our lives.
Today I want to go over goals and the mindset we should have when approaching our goals.
Which will help us better measure our time.
I believe you and I have an incorrect understanding of time and the timeline that we’re living in.
We set 5-year goals and we set 10-year goals.
But like the great philosopher Seneca says:
It’s not that we have a short life to live, but we waste a lot of it on no good activities.
Endgame goals are great but I believe in setting daily goals and trying to get better every day.
You might not make it to next year or next month.
It’s great that we have them and there are times when 10-year goals are appropriate, but what we should really be focused on is winning TODAY!
So what’s your goal today?
Mine was to stay consistent with cold showers until it becomes a habit!
If you want to be on the rise, you have to move towards your goals daily.
Those day-to-day goals are the ones that really move the needle.
IP VS PI
In this case, you never want to be a PI.
PI = Patiently impatient.
And that’s most of us.
We’re slow to start things but then when it comes time to accomplish our goals, we don’t stick with them.
We get impatient and expect things to happen overnight.
Because most of us are PI’s.
Personally, I don’t like to be around PI’s.
A great example of spotting a PI is observing how they handle New Year’s resolutions.
Most people in the first month of the year have started their New Year’s resolution but by the end of the month, they’ve already broke it.
They also form a New Year resolution in August.
They’re willing to live a crappy life for 5 more months just because they’re too patient to start their resolution NOW.
So 5 more months of bad habits, routine, and diet.
People think they can have 20 years of bad habits and rewire them in 20 days.
That’s a fool’s game.
“In our fears, we act as if we’re mortal and in our desire, we act as if we’re immortal”
Do not act immortal.
The truth is, your goals won’t always be there, if you’re too patient they will slip away from you.
Today is the youngest you’ll ever be, there is no reverse of time.
Forget your birth certificate age, Alexander the Great started his quest conquering at 19 and by 20 was the king.
Attack your goals with full force, don’t wait.
Become an IP
Become an IP instead.
IP = Impatiently patient.
Be someone that’s impatient to start something.
Meaning you start right away.
But then once the journey begins you’re patient!
Whatever your goal is start today as if you're going to die tomorrow but, stick with it as if you won’t die for another 20 years.
Let’s say you want to lose weight.
Don’t start your diet tomorrow, start today!
No tomorrow!
Just do something today.
And then stay consistent and be patient enough so the results can start kicking in.
Impatiently begin but then understand it’s a long-term game.
It’s so important that you become a person that starts things immediately instead of always planning for tomorrow.
Planning is only acceptable when it’s accounted for with action.
When it comes to planning out your life don’t be patient Initially.
Because we all have a lack of time…
So be more abundant with time because you won’t get it back…
You must be an IP in all areas of your life.
Your health, wealth, social life, and happiness.
There’s a fine line between being too patient and being too impatient…
I don’t know where it is but you better find it before your dreams die…
I’ll leave you with this riddle by Alexander The Great, who was the king of the Ancient Greek kingdom at just 20 years old:

“Throughout every generation of the human race, there’s been a war, a war with fear. Those who have the courage to conquer it are made free, and those who are conquered by it are made to suffer until they have the courage to defeat it or death takes them.”
You are at a constant war with fear and you will either be someone who will have the courage to conquer it and be set free to accomplish greatness.
Health, Wealth, Love Happiness…
Or you will be conquered by your fear, and you’ll suffer until you have the courage to overcome your fear, and death will take you.
And for most people, death takes them.
You decide which side you want to end up in…
“There’s only two types of people in the world, one that conquers fear and the second that doesn’t and suffers and dies from it”
