Hack Your Sleep and Become Super Human

Hack Your Sleep and Become Super Human

Hey Guys happy Thursday!

I hope you’re having a great week so far!

Today’s post will be about biohacking your sleep and improving your health!

Remember guys, it isn’t only about money.

We’re in it for the good life and the only way we live a good life is to master all pillars of our life - Health, Wealth, Love & Happiness.

Health is a HUGE part of that.

I see many entrepreneurs killing themselves to make so much money but sacrificing their bodies in the midst of it.

No point in being rich if you’re not healthy enough to enjoy it…

Another thing to keep in mind is also prioritizing the wrong thing.

For example, you could be hitting the gym and lifting weights but not sleeping right, and not getting enough sleep diminishes those gains.

So you’re basically moving backward… Work smarter, not harder…

Ben Greenfield is someone I learn a lot from in this field.

If you’ve never heard of him, he’s a biohacker, nutritionist, physiologist, fitness coach, competitive athlete, and New York Times bestselling author of 13 books.

Including one of his most famous books: Beyond Training.

Ben says he’s a huge fan of sleep.

Not because he’s lazy but because he understands the importance of it, and so should you.

Healthy sleep optimizes hormones, enhances repair and recovery, and allows for muscle protein synthesis.

He recommends you get about 8-9 hours of sleep daily.

There’s a reason why some of the best athletes in the world are sleeping around 9-11 hours…

Now let’s get into some ways you can improve your sleep.

These things worked for me so I highly recommend you guys give it a try.

Ways To Optimize Your Sleep:

  1. Stay away from blue light close to bedtime and avoid lots of blue light throughout the day.

Buy blue light glasses, you can get them with a prescription if you need to so no excuse.

  1. Have most of your house with infrared light. Red light is the best color light to help you sleep.

Buy LED lights or Hue light bulbs and put them all around your place.

  1. Infrared Therapy

Calms and relaxes us, making it easier to fall asleep after a stressful day.

  1. Consume Enough High-Quality Food Throughout The Day.

Avoid processed and junk food, replace them with real and clean natural food.

  1. Lower The Temperature Of The House. (65-68 degrees)

Helps lower your body temperature, making it easier to experience deep sleep.

  1. Wake Up Naturally.

Allowing yourself to wake up naturally can help you be more productive throughout the day.

  1. Consume A lot Of Water Throughout The Day.

Pretty simple, you have to stay hydrated.

  1. Get 15 Minutes - 1 Hour Of Sunshine Daily.

Sunshine plays a role in regulating hormones and sleep patterns. Go outside, and get active.

Oura Ring

Now I also recommend you guys get an Oura Ring, it’s a ring you wear to help track your health and sleep metrics.

It’s a bit pricey but if you can afford it, it’s one of the best purchases you’ll ever make.

Oura Ring tracks both your deep sleep and your REM sleep.

Deep sleep is the third stage of sleep and it’s necessary for repairing and feeling your best each day.

Getting enough deep sleep helps with immunity, muscle growth, and energy.

Now REM sleep in particular plays an important role in dreaming, memory, emotional processing, and healthy brain development.

Lack of REM sleep can hurt your physical and mental performance.

So deep sleep is for feeling rested, repairing, and staying healthy.

REM sleep is for brain health, learning, and memory.

Here are ways you can improve each:

REM Sleep:

  1. Wake up and go to sleep at the same time every day.

  2. Avoid caffeine 3-5 hours before bed.

Deep Sleep:

  1. Daily exercise but not within 4hrs of bed.

  2. Avoiding alcohol too close to bedtime - keep it to 2 drinks and stop 2-3 hrs before bed & drink 2 glasses of water to avoid dehydration.

  3. Avoid anything spicy too close to bedtime.

Final Thoughts

So now that you’ve learned these hacks, I encourage you you put them to use.

Don’t be like most people who learn something and never take action on it…

Have you ever heard the saying “sleep is for the poor”?

Yeah… That’s idiotic advice, don’t follow it.

People got it all wrong… If you want to optimize your health and reach peak performance, the pillar to focus on is sleep.

It’s ironic that most people in this world want to be healthy, wants to be fit, but forget to focus on the main driver of that.

Your sleep.

This is why I’m not a huge fan of the news or any type of media outlet, because most of the time they’re just trying to sell you something.

But don’t be the sucker…

Incorporating rest in your life is key…

Rest is the ability to turn stress off and decompress.

We live in a society where everyone wants to be hyperproductive as some sort of status symbol.

But remember most successful and happy people, they’re somewhat contrarians, they don’t follow the masses…

It’s okay to not be productive 24/7.

It’s okay to turn the body off once in a while.

That’s a good way to live.

Leaving You guys with this quote and as always hope you guys enjoy your weekend!
